Initial works involved the phased demolition of independent living units and demolition of part of the existing nursing home facility.
The new facility comprises of the construction of a new split level 2/3 storey extension, to the east of the existing nursing home building, incorporating 69 no. individual bedrooms.
Part of the existing building, inclusive of the chapel is been retained and refurbished to provide social spaces for the residents and administrative / support areas.
A beautiful residential care home, on the banks of the River Liffey.
"Aspects of the phasing and interfaces between the new and existing buildings were complex and the contractor worked closely with the nursing home management and staff to ensure that the works were carried out with the minimum impact to the residents and the operations of the nursing home. Purcell carried out the work to a high standard and retained a collaborative positive relationship with the design team and client regardless of the challenges and difficulties faced along the way. They demonstrated proactive leadership and a willingness to get things right."
