Luan Art Gallery

Construction of a new Art Gallery on the banks of the River Shannon, in the heart of Athlone Town.

This building was chosen as the winner of the  RIAI Best Cultural Building Award – 2013

The project involved the extensive refurbishment of the Father Mathew Hall building and the construction of a new modern extension over two storeys, to house the Gallery, along with a cantilevered walkway  which projects over the River Shannon.

The project required complete underpinning of the existing building alongside the River Shannon, piling to both the existing and new sections and substantial archaeological works.
