Refurbishment and re-purposing works to the former An Post sorting office into a Public Library. The building is a single storey with a flat concrete roof. The main library space includes a higher roof incorporating a glazed clearstorey. The existing fabric and roof was upgraded to achieve a BER B3 rating. The internal finishes were repaired / replaced, with new internal walls and ceilings. Internal finishes include built-in joinery, desks and seating associated with library use. The existing kitchen and WC facilities were reconfigured and replaced to meet current space and sanitary standards.
The existing grassed entrance area to the front was landscaped including a split level with retaining walls and steps. A ramp through soft landscaping and trees is also included. The rear yard is resurfaced with blacktop.
