Dargan Centre for Research and Innovation

A 3 storey over part basement Research and Innovation Centre, with research laboratories, post-graduate research facilities, start-up business facilities, office accommodation, tiered lecture theatres and reception area on the grounds of IT Carlow.

The design boats high quality exposed concrete elements, with a Class C smooth finish achieved. A specific concrete mix with GGBS was added to give a bright, non blemished end result. The curtain wall and cladding system used was a bi-modular façade system with an anodized aluminium finish. This system was integrated with the stone cladding system to give very specific sight lines to all joints.
