Re-purposing of the existing boilerhouse, construction of  new floor levels and general refurbishment of the existing building, which was re-modelled and re-fitted to provide the Rediscovery Centre, which provides employment in the re-use and recycling of old furniture, paint and fabric.

The Centre also provides an Exhibition and Educational facility for reuse, recycling, sustainable development and ecological building. The Centre has been designed to ensure a minimum carbon footprint in construction and throughout its operational lifetime. The building achieved an SEAI BER of A-2.

"Purcell engaged with the spirit of the project and worked co-operatively with the team in recycling various elements of the original building into the works in order to arrive at a generally high quality finish. They displayed a positive attitude towards the building process and we enjoyed a good relationship with the whole Purcell team."
