Demolition of the existing visitor centre entrance and construction of a new planar glazed entrance area to house the Viking ship.
In 2019 a new mezzaine floor was inserted in the Synod Hall and structural works were carried out to form new offices, classrooms and theatre spaces with tiered seating in the Great Hall.
