We are delighted that four of the projects with which we were involved have been nominated for the Public Choice Awards and wish the very best of luck to the following nominees: ABK Architects (Ballymun Boilerhouse Rediscovery Centre) / Taylor Architects in association with Richard Murphy (O’Donoghue Centre, NUIG) / Blackwood Architects in association with Margaret Quinlan Architects (Richmond Barracks) / and DTA Architecture (Dunluce Apartments).
We are delighted to have commenced works on our new Contract for the construction of a Production Capacity Expansion for Mylan in Inverin, Connemara. This project includes new pharmaceutical process production in a cleanroom environment. We are proud to continue our working relationship with Mylan, on this our 4th project together in Inverin.
The Ballymun Boilerhouse Rediscovery Centre received the Green Construction Award 2017 at an Awards Ceremony in Dublin, on 21st of February. This was a unique and very interesting construction project for us to work on in collaboration with the Dublin City Council and ABK Architects.
Works are progressing well on the restoration of Richmond Barracks, Dublin as a new exhibition centre, to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the 1916 Easter Rising. Set in this historic Barracks – whose walls saw over 3,000 Irish rebels held there – the interactive, multimedia attraction will trace the story of the site from military barracks, to housing estate, to school, to museum. Purcell Construction recently reinstalled the landmark octagonal lantern (Cupola) as part of the ongoing works.
