The Role

Junior Estimator working under the guidance of Senior Estimators with responsibilities for :-

  • Support Senior Estimators in the review and assessment of tender documentation, including drawings, specifications, reports and project scope requirements. 
  • Prepare consultant, subcontractor and material enquiry packages, and assist with cost analysis, comparisons and pricing activities using estimating software. 
  • Manage and maintain tender documentation throughout the tender process, ensuring accuracy, organisation and compliance with company procedures. 
  • Assist in the preparation and submission of tender returns, project handover documentation and estimating reports. 
  • Contribute to the pricing and review of preliminaries and maintain estimating data to support tender applications and project delivery. 

 

The Candidate

  • You will ideally have experience with a main contractor and possess relevant site operations experience and/or strong technical knowledge 
  • You will have a minimum of 1 year’s relevant experience in an estimating, construction or related role. 
  • You will have the ability to interpret drawings, specifications and reports, with an understanding of project risks and requirements. 
  • You will be a clear and concise communicator with strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to your work. 
  • You will be capable of working independently and collaboratively as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. 
  • You will be highly organised, with the ability to work accurately and efficiently while managing competing deadlines. 
  • You will hold a diploma or degree qualification in Quantity Surveying, Engineering or a related Construction discipline. 
  • You will be proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel, with knowledge of Conquest software considered an advantage. 
  • You will hold a valid driving licence.

You will work as part of the tender bid team in conjunction with the Technical and Project Coordination Departments to thoroughly scrutinise project tender requirements, review scope, assessment of costing requirements and analysis of data received to assist in the preparation of tender costs proposals, all the time marketing the Purcell brand.
