Introduction

We are seeking an experienced EHS Lead to join our team and play a central role in strengthening our health, safety, environmental and wellbeing culture across the business. Reporting to the EHS/ESG Manager, this role is responsible for developing, implementing and managing our EHS management systems, ensuring legal and ISO compliance, and driving continuous improvement throughout the organisation.

The EHS Lead will promote proactive safety behaviours, support wellbeing initiatives, mentor EHS Officers and act as the primary liaison with the Health & Safety Authority. The role involves overseeing site safety performance, contractor compliance, risk management, incident investigation, auditing and performance reporting. The role will also collaborate closely with project teams to support planning, training delivery, communication and change management.

The Role

  • Lead and promote a strong EHS culture across all sites.
  • Drive continuous improvement of EHS systems and maintain ISO 45001 & ISO 14001 standards.
  • Oversee PSDP/PSCS requirements, contractor compliance and pre‑qualification.
  • Conduct site visits, audits, inspections and incident investigations.
  • Manage risk assessments, the company risk register and action tracking processes.
  • Prepare monthly EHS performance reports and analyse project KPIs.
  • Deliver mandatory safety training and provide technical guidance to teams.
  • Collaborate with HR, EDI and ESG functions to support wellbeing and psychological safety initiatives.
  • Mentor and support the EHS Officer team.

The Candidate

  • Degree or Diploma in Occupational Health & Safety (NFQ Level 7+).
  • 5–8 years’ senior EHS experience within the construction industry.
  • PSDP/PSCS qualification (desirable).
  • Experience managing ISO 45001:2018 and ISO 14001 systems.
  • Strong communication, influencing and leadership skills.
  • Excellent problem‑solving ability and high attention to detail.
  • Confident trainer with strong reporting, analysis and IT skills.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Full clean driving licence.
