The Opportunity
You will be joining a leading Irish building main contractor committed to the highest standards of safety, quality and sustainability with an earned reputation for delivering outstanding quality projects which meet and exceed our client’s expectations. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Quantity Surveyor to manage the financial and contractual aspects of construction projects. The successful candidate will ensure cost control, value engineering, and commercial risk management across all phases of the project lifecycle and will play a pivotal part in delivering high-profile projects, working closely with multidisciplinary teams and key stakeholders. As a Senior Member of the QS team the role will play a key leadership role in coaching, mentoring, and developing junior members of the QS team, fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional growth.
The Role
Reporting directly to the Commercial Director, this Senior QS role will involve:
- Commercial QS management of your projects.
- Efficient & timely management of the subcontractor procurement process.
- Preparation of contract trade budgets.
- Budget cost analysis of all packages and negotiation with subcontractors.
- Management of subcontractor appointment and accounts.
- Management of subcontractor payments.
- Preparation of cash flow and interim valuations.
- Change order management and agreement of the final account with the PQS.
The Candidate
- You will have a minimum of 5 years experience in a similar role and 10 years experience in the industry.
- You will be degree qualified in Construction Economics or Quantity Surveying.
- You will have a proven track record of managing complex projects from pre-contract to final account together with leading cost planning, procurement, contract administration & risk management.
- You will have demonstrated ability to lead and support junior members of the QS team.
- You will be highly organised and self motivated.
