The Opportunity
You will be joining a leading Irish building main contractor committed to the highest standards of safety, quality and sustainability with an earned reputation for delivering outstanding quality projects which meet and exceed our client’s expectations. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced and detail-oriented Quantity Surveyor to help manage the financial and contractual aspects of construction projects. The successful candidate will ensure cost control, value engineering, and commercial risk management across all phases of the project lifecycle and will play a pivotal part in delivering high-profile projects, working closely with multidisciplinary teams and key stakeholders. As a Member of the QS team the role will play a key leadership role in coaching, mentoring, and developing junior members of the QS team, fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional growth.
The Role
Reporting directly to the Senior Quantity Surveyor, this QS role will involve:
- Commercial QS management of your projects in conjunction with the Senior QS.
- Efficient & timely management of the subcontractor procurement process.
- Preparation of contract trade budgets.
- Budget cost analysis of all packages and negotiation with subcontractors.
- Management of subcontractor appointment and accounts.
- Management of subcontractor payments.
- Preparation of cash flow and interim valuations.
- Change order management.
The Candidate
- You will have a minimum of 5 years experience in a similar role in the industry.
- You will be degree qualified in Construction Economics or Quantity Surveying.
- You will have a growing understanding of the full project lifecycle, with experience assisting in cost planning, procurement, contract administration & Risk management under the guidance of a Senior Quantity Surveyor
- You will be highly organised and self motivated.
